Shireen is a public health physician and passionate advocate for maternal and child health. She has broad public health experience, from state-level policy and management of communicable diseases, through to community development work with reproductive health charities in the UK and Asia. Currently a medical advisor at the NSW Ministry of Health, she brings skills encompassing strategy, health policy and communications. She holds Masters of Public Health and Public Policy in addition to her medical degree and specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine.

Shireen became involved with Little Sparklers through peer support work with The Beyond Sleep Training Project. She believes that there is an unmet community need for infant sleep and feeding advice that respects children's biology and emotional development, while also supporting parents to flourish. As a mother of one spirited little girl, Shireen is driven to help ensure that parents have access to modern, evidence-based advice that is in keeping with their values.
